    top server website

hello i want to create top online servers website, i wanted to ask: i will basically code it so that after a user registers a server on registration page it will automatically add to the top list on the home page, so i was wondering do i have to make both register page and the home page .php or can i keep it as .html ? Also when user adds a server and it appears on the list is it possible to also add a certain background to that specific listing, because i want to make it that 1listing is blue then 2 is white 3 is blue 4 is white and etc. Thank you

If you change the server config so that files with the extension “.html” is handled as PHP then you can keep your .html extension, otherwise you need to change it both to .php.

And your second question sounds like you want a zebra list kind of thing. You can use the CSS :nth-child() selector (with even/odd values, e. g. :nth-child(odd)) for that (doesn’t work in IE8 and lower, you can work around that by applying classes to the items, e. g. with JavaScript).

hm thanks. On top of that, would it be hard to write a code where user would be able to buy a premium account and as a result be able to add banners to their listings, however regular accounts shouldnt be allowed to add banners. Thank you very much

You are asking the wrong questions. For a seasoned PHP programmer that’s not hard, for someone who has never seen a computer that’s not quite an easy task.

You should be a little more elaborate about what you want. It doesn’t sound like you know quite what you’re doing or have to do and need someone to at least do part of the job. If so then head over to the web servinces marketplace forum and post your requirement(s) there.
