Perhaps I am jumping to conclusions - but if you want a tool to make link building "easier" - I hope you are not looking for long term sustainable results.

My best advice after being involved with SEO for 2+ years... treat SEO like networking. Put some real time and effort into it. Maybe you'll get 90% fewer links and pursue a slower growth model - but I assure you it will pay off, in two ways. A) You won't getting slapped/blacklisted B) Hedge your risk against future updates and maintain good positive rankings.

If all this is indeed me jumping to conclusions - I would ask for more information as to what type of link building you want a tool for?

If you're looking for some magical, free link building tool, your site is going to go nowhere. In a few years, you're going to be asking why your site got penalized or what you did wrong when some version of Panda/Penguin or some other P-named animal update happens.

    Really good post
It's all about the long term, because Google is getting smarter all the time.

Just imagine if you built a business off the back of Google rankings only and had no referral traffic from other sites. If Google dropped your rankings your business would fall apart overnight.

    Hi,
Have you tested NewsAssist? It definitely belongs in your list of tools. It is a free firefox-addon that boosts the productivity of bloggers and editors. It is a great tool that combines searching, editing, publishing and distributing blogtext. NewsAssist is a powerful tool and a great working environment that is fully integrated with FireFox. It can be found on www.newsassist.org and on the firefox add-on site.

I don't use any kind of link building tool because it is considered as a spam technique by Google and may be Google ban your site.
I prefer to do link building manually rather than using any kind of tool.

In my point of view directory submission tools or even any submission tools are not useful in any manner in SEO. Google is very quick and sharp in identifying tool submissions. If you have search about Google recent SEO updates then you find Google don't like tool submission and if you use this technique then you have possibly to pay penalty.

Building links manually can also be considered spam.

"Any links intended to manipulate a site's ranking in Google search results may be considered part of a link scheme." ~ Google

Building a random blog, posting a link on it to your site, and then never touching it again is the same thing as using a tool that does it...except much, much slower. No idea why people think it's any different. It is spam. It's against the Google Webmaster guidelines.

Low quality directory or bookmarking sites are also considered spam. Just because you build it manually is no different.

And we have a great example here...

"Forum comments with optimized links in the post or signature"

    For example...

For building links, you have to build links manually and work on in ethical manner because your site may be penalized.
