    Question Articles site

    Hello everyone!
I want to make a tutorials site, but I don't know how to make an articles generator...
I want to make a site like http://creativemonkeyz.com/ with different articles and presentations ...you know what I'm talking about...articles with title, author, content, rating,COMMENTS etc. and every article(tutorial, video) has a new page with its title (e.g www.website.com/tutorial_name) .
PLEASE HELP ME! i really need that kind of site...

I saw that this kind of sites have 'archives' for every month and stuff like that...PLEASE help me with some links or ideas...
    Maybe a XML work?

Nothing to do with JavaScript. This needs to be done with some kind of server-side code that can look up the list of articles, etc., in a database and present them to the user.

You need to decide on what kind of server-side coding you will do (e.g., PHP or ASP or JSP) and what database you will use. Then you need to LEARN that server-side language and LEARN how to manage a database and LEARN how to make SQL queries in that database.

In any case, find the right forum to post in.

I would say that, if you don't know any server-side language/technology and you don't know how to use a database, that you have at least 3 months of studying to do and maybe more.

Or you could just check out something like wordpress, which has many kinds of web formats, ready made. It's blogger software but it's used on many different kinds of sites.

Yeah, good point. My son, who knows HTML fine and JavaScript just barely, has created a pretty reasonable site using WordPress. Check it out: http://www.nuimall.com

I'm 13 years old...I know PHP and SQL very ,very good.
And I wanted to do a database with articles...but if I would make many articles...the database would become "heavy" and big...that wouldn't be very good for my site...whatever,it's clearly that this kind of sites don't use a database for that...I think
that it has something to do with XML. Just look at this: http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/
I'd like to do something like that...And I can't find a tutorial about this...
Sorry for posting in the wrong forum...I posted here because this is the most populated forum.
