Smile need helping making a search engine for my website??

i need help understanding this one
    http://forums.aspfree.com/asp-develo...highlight=term
i got it from google searching how to make a search page step by step and found this one:
    http://forums.aspfree.com/code-bank-...er-126434.html

but i want people to be able to put both multiple and non-multiple keywards into the search.

And i would also like it if people can have the option to search just by color or color and text searching..
if i can't do that on dreamweaver can you guys link me to a tutorial by doing it with html or css on just my own website, i use freewebs but i'm getting my own domain name after i'm finished! :3

    I'm making a webstore layout

i'm not very bright on making codes myself i would prefer to have the codes handed off to me please & thank u :3

Are you picking a webhost where you'll be hosted on a Windows server, and you'll be using ASP?
Those examples are ASP (active server pages), and not PHP/MySQL.

It will matter in the end, because you're going to need a database.
Then you'll be programming in either PHP or ASP (not the same thing).

In either case, you need to have a database of some kind ... that's what you search.

You'll have to find an ASP forum.
Your question pertains to ASP (Active Server Pages).

but this is a coding forum x_x
so isn't asp sort of like coding? since you have to make the server and i am speaking of finding a tutorial on how to make a search work with color searches at the same time or by themselves :O

Why not just use the Google API?

That is because regular users cannot move topics, only moderators can do that.

I think you are missing a few words in that run on sentence.

The administrator WA is the only one that can delete accounts and even then only if you have a really, really good reason. If you don't want to participate anymore deleting your account is unnecessary and devalues the other posts in any threads you've participated in. That is why we don't delete accounts, there is no real reason, if you don't want to use your account anymore, just leave and let it sit.

Well, I haven't read through any posts on here, so sorry if the problem has already been resolved, but you can either use Google Search on your site and modify it however you'd like, you can pay Google a whole bunch of money for a pre-built search for your site, or you can build your own which requires a database and a server-side scripting language (I use PHP and mySQL). If you want to build one from scratch, check out one of the forums here for whatever language you plan on coding it in and search Google for a tutorial of a simple search engine or site search and work your way up from their.

I don't know anything about ASP, so I can't really help you understand the first page you linked to (not at least without figuring out how the workings of ASP compare to the workings of PHP). Sorry.

You can't always get what you want. Now your account will live on forever since you decided to get yourself banned.
