bottom text display when mouseover a link

I gave a banner ad to be displayed on a website. When you click my banner, it directs the user to my website no problem. But I am just curious about something. When you point your mouse on the banner, the text that is displayed at the bottom of the screen is not my website name but something like an ID of his ad campaign etc... Then when the user clicks on the banner he gets to my site. What does this bottom text mean? As long as the user gets directed to my site when clicking it is okay right?

I also asked if this is a no follow link and it is not.... (if this is related to my question, I am not sure...)

You mean the statusbar message in the browser that shows the URL? If it’s a different URL then most likely this is some click tracking script that registers on which link the user has clicked and then redirects to your website. This way they can analyze where people click on and how they use certain options displayed on the website and take further action to improve business.

Many times you’ll find the string “track”, “click”, or “redirect” in such a URL, or the URL looks something like http://example.com/?param1=value1&redirect=http://yourdomain.com
