Question regarding RSS feeds and Joomla

Is it possible to display RSS feeds as Joomla articles?

Im new to RSS and am still working out what can and cannot be achieved.

I know I can use a Joomla extension to display News Feed headlines, which then link to a news website e.g. CNN's website. But can I display the news article in a Joomla article on my site?

There must be a module for that.
    Did you Google it yet?

I Googled it, and found a couple of Joomla extensions, JoomRSS, Feed2Post, and RSSFactory.

They all seem pretty much the same, they do allow RSS feeds to be displayed as "active articles" in Joomla. But, the content of the feeds is only 1 or 2 lines maximum, with a link to the original source website, which is very dissapointing. Maybe that is just the way an RSS feed is? Do you know, because Im not sure.

I was hoping for full several paragraphs plus photos "active RSS news content".

The idea behind an RSS feed is for it to provide a short synopsis of the content with the ability to link to the original, full, content.

The RSS feed is only as good (or lengthy) as the content within their XML file.
and as Dave said, the idea of offering free content is the link back to the source.

There might be something in the module that limits the feed length even more than
the original XML ... but you would have to compare your display to the actual XML
file and see if there is any difference in content length.

Thats fine, I didnt know that RSS feeds mostly are only short in length and just link back to their source. Ive learnt something!

Shame though, I was hoping they would be full length, but thankyou for replying to my question
