I currently have a site hosted on Godaddy. Let's call it mydomain.com
Now, I've registered a new domain name (newdomain.com), and it is hosted in a separate folder in my hosting account called othersite. This domain points to that folder.
As a result, you can get to this page by either typing newdomain.com, or mydomain.com/othersite/index.html
I don't want this to appear as duplicate content or a mirrored site to search engines, so can I put a robots.txt file into my main hosting for mydomain.com and disallow access to the folder mydomain.com/othersite?
Would this still allow the search engines to find the content when they follow just newdomain.com ?
I hope this makes sense.

The only thing you’d have to do would be a permanent redirect (301) with .htaccess. (Should be clear by now what search terms you’d have to use to search for the solution.)
