intro page, a little confusing, i mean i saw "enter" but theres alot of stuff there i didnt understand what it means. *shrug*
on the "events, projects" etc. section, i say try and make that section a tad smaller, i have just a small scrollbar, and it looks odd, doesnt really scroll, just shakes that section around. (800x600)
    it looks good though.

    800x600

It boggles me that people still run their monitors at 800x600

Hello, you can run a higher rez than that and get more screen real-estate.

thanks for the comments, I think.

    Hey TN
    Nice site.
I run 2 monitors, one @ 800x600 and one @ 1040x768. Just so you know:

-it looks great @ 1040. But @ 800x600, we love visitors section to the right is chopped off w/ no horizontal scrollbars to see it....

& one more thing. There IS still alot of people running 800x600 on 15" & 17" monitors. Your site is definately not currently optimised for them....

    take care
    looks great

    Oh please...

It isn't your prerogative to dictate which monitors and settings your visitors should use; instead you should aim to create a site that accommodates as many visitors as possible. At least offer them a usable site albeit not looking exactly the way you envisaged your pixelperfect design.
I'm using a full browser window on a 15" company monitor set at 800x600 res, and although your design looks nice it lacks in usability.
I'd like to see some scrollbars; i hate it when part of a page disappears behind the window edges without having any means of getting there. Also, a part (how big? I wouldn't know) of the navigation links disappears behind a further page element.
    Regards,
    Ronald.

hmmm... p'raps you should take a look at this months stats for monitor resolutions. that says that the most used resolution is 800*600... you cant just expect poeple to use what you use, you have to make allowances for people to use differant settings/browsers to you.

"Hello, you can run a higher rez than that and get more screen real-estate." um, no i cant, not without buying a new monitor which at the mo i cant afford...

im looking at it in 800*600, and a screenshot of what i see is attached. perhaps you could make it without the frames and with some scrollbars, then that 47% of your visitors will be able to see it?...

methinks the design is great, perhaps change the colour of the links to black when you mouseover them so you can see them once the background of them has turned green? its just a shame i cant actaully see it...

    You're right!

perhaps change the colour of the links to black when you mouseover them so you can see them once the background of them has turned green?
Oh yeah, forgot that one; yet another variation on the "mystery meat" theme! Now it's there, now it's gone...

looks cool. just one thing though. are the mouseovers of your links supposed to be plain green? i mean, i can't see the link's text when i mouseover it. personally, it doesn't exactly seem right for links to behave like that, to me. but maybe u wanted it that way....
    otherwise it's pretty cool

For those who would critisize 800x600, there are a lot of reasons why people may be using that resolution. First off they may have a huge monitor but have poor vision, 800x600 would make things large enough to be easily viewable. They may have a corporate controlled setting (some technology departments are both backwards and extremely overcontrolling). They may be using an old monitor that may be capable of higher resolutions but is no longer legible (even with good eyesight) at those resolutions and have no chance of getting a new monitor until the one they have has finally faded out entirely.

In Moz1.1 at 1600 by 1200 it sort of looks like two sites welded together to form one. For my viewing, you as a designer really are not utilising the available real-estate of my screen. Why not just go to your settings and adjust your monitor up to 1600 or above? If you cannot go that high, nip out and buy a new one as you are holding your design skills back by using such a piddly resolution.

OK - enough of the rant - just over-imparting the idea that as a designer you should be designing to accomodate other peoples settings rather than requesting them to change their preferences.

Overall I quite liked the design and think the combination of seperated page elements and navigation works quite well. I am though not a great fan of iframes as I prefer the scrollbar to be on the right where I expect it. Plus with that colour scheme the scrollbar looks awkward where it is (maybe you coloured it for IE and looks better in that browser, maybe not).

As you might get the odd surfer at 1840x1400 you only have to fill up a bit more space and you'll be there [Oooops, started ranting again ]
