    Winsock 10060 error

I keep getting a winsock error. The ftp program says:
    Connecting to 72.34.51.61 , 31 May 2008 07:47:07
500 Connection timed out (Winsock error #10060)
. I just updated my firewall software, possibly the problem, but on my other, un-updated computer the same thing happens. Sometimes it gets partway connected and then logs out. I checked the internet and the 10060 is a timeout error, and it could be caused by having to many ftp users, bad firewall settings, or some problem on the server. Since it's happening on my other un-updated computer, and I had used the ftp program succesfully with that computer before, I don't think it's a firewall problem. And its not the ftp program itself that's the problem; I uninstalled it, tried a different one, and still the problem remains. Its not the number of users that is the problem; it says
    < 220-You are user number 2 of 50 allowed.
One thing that I just noticed that was different between the two computers is that on my Vista (the other's XP) it has a different line in the ftp commands:

    < 227 Entering Passive Mode (72,34,51,61,114,25)
Seems like I should contact my host but wanted you're opinions. Any ideas?
