Remove/Block other sites pages in SE's

A couple news stories were released about a friend of mine and they are indexed in google so when you google his name those distasteful stories show up and he is very unhappy about that. Is there a way to remove the pages from google or at least bury the pages? The pages themselves are of very low page rank.

My plan is to release a couple sites, blogs and profiles about him with different but useful content in each in the hopes that it will bury those pages but will that work and is there anything else I can do?

    Thanks in advance

No, you can't universally stop google from indexing something. Imagine how spammers and hackers would abuse that! You can exclude showing results containing a certain string for yourself, for example you could search "about -about.com" if you wanted to find the string "about" but not "about.com".

In short, there's no way to exclude their site from google's robots, or windows live's, or yahoo's, etc.
