You'll be searching Google for "PHP login"

PHP/MySQL is the method you'll be using.

You can also find many pre-made scripts online,
some free, some for a price. I use a great online
invoice system (it only cost me $40) and allows
clients to view their own invoices and pay using
    PayPal. http://www.forperfect.com/

It does just what you mentioned ... unique logins,
view their invoices, print them out (PDF files) or HTML.
Notification system, etc. Then the admin screen for
me to administer client names, invoices, reports.

Of course, you'll have to learn some PHP and/or
have someone install a script for you.

Like he said, PHP/MySQL is the easiest way to go, you need a database though.

MySQL is the database, despite what webhost you use.
I would guess GoDaddy offers MySQL databases?
