    Google Bad Coding Practices

Google uses tables in its design! Also, they don't have w3c valid code! I thought that for sure they would have, since they are the most popular search engine on the internet.

You can validate their homepage to see the non w3c complaince, and i found the tables on this page:

Besides it matters little if tables are used where google is concerened. also it would not take much to implement more user friendly code. Google does the job so why should it matter if a table is used.

I think the reason the OP brought it is up is that if you were to use tables and bad coding on your website, Google will penalize you when determining your rank.

It's actually quite nice to know that the original reason was that the founders didn't really know HTML all too well. That also accounts for its simplistic UI.
