    Best editor?

I'm running PCLinuxOS right now and I'm wondering what everybody thinks is the best editor. I've used Bluefish some and then there's Quarta (sp?) that I've heard a little about and I'm sure there's others. What do you use?

What are you going to use this editor for? Just PHP, HTML, CSS?

I use dreamweaver (for the FTP) but notepad is fine. You don't really need anything special.

If you are just doing html+css and need something free then http://www.htmlkit.com/ is great.

    Yep. HTML, CSS, and PHP.

    I'll check out html kit.
Edit: Let me point out again that I'm running linux so native linux programs would be best. Although html kit should with with wine.

Shouldn't there be a list of programs in add/remove?

Don't understand this because I know **** all about OS and stuff like that. But another great free editor is jedit: http://www.jedit.org/
