    Domain Transfer away charge

Can any one inform me of the Nominet for ".com" domains.

A client of mine wishes to transfer his domain away from his current hosting company...but they are being very difficult to deal with and unwilling to corporate with the transfer request.

If anyone knows who we should contact in order to transfer away the domain...we would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

I'm confused. Is this hosting company also a domain registrar? If they are a registrar are they flat out refusing to transfer the domain? Or is this just a case of they are taking their time?

In either case they can be reported to ICANN.

    Hi Spookster,

Yes, they are a registra...but they are not welling to release the domain...so we can't transfer it to another registra.

They want my client to fill a form with his credit card details....but the amount is undisclosed...and when I phoned them to ask...they said he must fill the form...otherwise, the domain won't be released....and they wouldn't confirm the amount either.

I am not sure that they can do this...and that is why I want to see if there is an organisation to whom we can complain and hopefully resolve the issue as soon as possible. My client is happy to pay a small fee towards releasing the domain...but he wants to know how much it will cost him...before filling the form with credit details.

Any ideas what to do...will be much appreciate it.

    Regards,
    ~E

The registrar you are transfering it to should be handling it. If they don't already know to do so then they should contact ICANN and get them involved.
