    301 confusion

I have changed the .htaccess file for my site to include a load of 301 redirects as I recently changed my whole site to use a php includes system (today infact)

I've deleted all the old pages and replaced them with the new equivalent, the redirects are working fine but do I need to place a page at the old locations with any redirect code on to help search engines find the new pages or should I just submit my new site and let the .htaccess file do the rest.

Cheers for any help, i'm a little worried about loosing traffic, if it help the site is http://www.sipedia.co.uk but I can't imagine it would

If your domain is the same then I think you hard work with Google would not be lost, what do the others think? Interesting post!

    Cheers for replying Nikos,

Well I went ahead and submitted the sitemap late last night and it appears that everything is fine! I didn't have a drop in traffic after the initial switch last night and submitting the site map hasn't lost any of my pages in Google.

I've had usual traffic levels today but then google hasn't spidered me yet so we'll wait and see how that one goes!
