    Creating a Forum

Hey guys just wanted to see if anyone knew of easy way to get a forum created. I believe there is a way that you can use a template and fillout what you want and it compiles it but dont know where to get that.
    THanks,
    Jack

phpBB (Iirc, phpBB is due to release a major update soon, which isn't fully backwards-compatible with previous versions. So, I'd suggest waiting for the full, non-beta release to become available if you're considering this option.)

Building the site itself is the easy bit.
Building the community is likely to take much more time and effort.

it's not practical to make your forum as your index page.

It'd probably be easiest to get an InvisionFree Forum. Their support is awesome and you don't have to worry about hosting, or paying as it's all free. The only thing is you don't get access to any of the database stuff... but you don't need it

    Eh?
    Firstly, why quote me?
Secondly, I'd disagree if the sole purpose of the site/domain is a forum.

www.phorum.org has a nice forum with a very clean design. Also before you setup your forum you should decided were to put the forum index file because it can be tricky to change it after. You have three choices:
    1. mysite.com
    2. forum.mysite.com
    3. mysite.com/forum

The first two I think are the best.

Yes....I have setup two forums with the phpBB forums and both were so inactive I closed them down, good experience though in setting them up and being an administrator. I might try a third forum with the www.phorum.org boards.
