    Lightbulb Site Critique Requested.

Well, this is actually a site I designed last year as a project for English class. I got my disk back to copy and upload, and was curious as to what people thought of it. Here is the link: http://www.geocities.com/jon_zie/RJ/111clickme.htm

(Yes, I know, it should be index.htm, but I wanted it to be first on the list of files, heh. I was oblivious to making a subdirectory for the rest.)

Keep in mind it was designed for a fairly computer illiterate person (my teacher) who can appreciate the neat effects more than the coding itself.

I don't plan on changing anything, and I know there are about a zillion things I can do to make it better, both appearance-wise and the coding, but hey, you learn a lot in a year.

    Thanks for any comments!

i'm not a huge fan of alerts that pop up for no reason. also, i think that sites should be designed to work on as many resolutions as possible, and not just for one specific size. other than that, though, it's not too bad. better than my first site was.

*recalls Year 9 all those years ago when watching R&J 17 times just because two girls thought it was romantic*

    *shiver*

That was unpleasant... but I just now hate R&J...

The popups and resolution design: all meant for one computer anyways. I myself most likyely wouldn't use any annoying popups like that on sites I build now, so don't worry. . And hey, this wasn't my first site....I don't think you want to see my first site, its horrid, lol.

As for you ironsurge, I'm glad you liked it. . Heh, I have to agree with you though, it's not the best play in the world, although I don't mind it...then again, I didn't have to watch it 17 times.

I guess I thought it was okay at first, but after we kept watching it continously over and over and over and over again, well I got sick of it.

The play is okay too... but it is not my taste.

If you ex all the things that made me shiver at the experience of your site, I would say that your site is quite good, and well, you are an old member, so you should know of the common criticisms, and you seem to have avoided them.

First of all, I misspelt your name in my post...iron instead of ion, woops.

And wahay, I'm an old member, heh. I didn't design that site when I was signed up here though, so I guess I just have a natural ability to avoid critisizm, lol.

Glad ya liked it...minus the content.

The site design is good, and well I am glad you liked the fact that I like the fact that you like that I like it (hehe).

Well done, and well you have avoided them well.

    Well done!

Ahh.. R&J (sounds like PB&J for some reason.. ) anyhow, I liked the story and saw a few interesting flicks along the way.

Like the site. I agree about that resolution and those pop-ups x.x
I don't like no-right-mouse codes . (but you had mentioned why you had-em).
However, it's not a big deal, just gotta know your way around.. loading individual pages

Anyhow, the colours are nice and the animation of R & J you have on each page, looks like their either Zelda characters or DBZ... hehe (perhaps both?)
I just had to say something about that Random Insult Generator. Funny stuff.

I enjoyed the games. Having them open up in separate windows was a good idea (I thought so ).

So.. you actually didn’t mention what your mark was.

Heh, the little people are generic, I downloaded some free images of little people for my RPG game maker (which I don't use anymore) and stuck them in there. They may have been from a specific set though, I don't remember...more likely Zelda than DBZ.

Glad you liked the games. The insult generator is pretty neat, though I wanted something a bit different code-wise for it. As I have it, it just picks a certain phrase and writes it to the text box. What I originally had in mind was for the script to pick three random phrases, which would compile the entire insult, and write them...making it more random. I might try something like that now that I know a bit more about JS.

As for my mark...not sure what you mean by that. Grade maybe? If so, I got an A on it...impressed the teacher (not professor, this was only 9th grade work)

Well, thanks for your positive comments, raises ones self esteem heh. Glad you enjoyed it.

<sidenote> Someone stumbled in here wanting graphics and layout help about a year ago. After I spent 20 minutes getting his site looking pretty sharp, he totally ignored me and went on with his own ideas. I mean...what's the point? It cured me from ever helping doofs again. Not that you're a doof... </sidenote>
Zoobie or not Zoobie...That is the problem.

Well, quite off to the side indeed. Glad you learned not to deal with doops, heh.
