    Browser test: PNG rollover

I'm looking to see if my external css rollover PNG button with transparent background is visible in mainly IE and NS...maybe Opera, too.

What color is behind the text?
    Browser?

    Look here.

    Already tested:
    IE 6 = OK
    IE 5.5 = OK
    IE 5 = OK
    NS 7 = OK
    Opera 6 = form button

    Thanks

    White?

Err... white? IE 5.5 on win NT, here. The rollover effect are the stars, right? By the way, i get an error on that page: "Unterminated string constant", line 4, char 251.
    Regards,
    Ronald.

White. A 1.3 trunk build of Mozilla.

Try doing something remotely difficult like translucency with gamma correction that really shows what PNG's can do .
    Transparency is old .

You could have used a gif to achieve that effect, the cool thing of png is that i can do "semi-transparent" pixels.

Mozilla has some cool dhtml demos, which show what can be done with standard compliant code:
    http://www.mozilla.org/start/1.0/demos.html

This one is especially cool,as it shows what really cool tricks can be done using PNG.This ofcourse won't work in IE,since its support for PNG sucks:

    Umm...Ok

    How about NS6 & 7?

I guess my Irfanviewer doesn't support transparent backgrounds for PNG's.

The error is from the Geocities ad, a gif would be much larger, and I'm not interested in anything else, thanks.

I have a bunch of .png files which are mainly site plan layout type things which I always do before making a site.

    http://24.226.62.28/projectodyssey/png.asp

That page will let you view a .png file (all have alpha layer) with the desired background.

Have fairly complex translucency and transparency others don't just select the background color for the file you want to view an presto the file is loaded with that background color.

If your browser supports it you will see it all without a gray background on the image unlike my browser.

IE 6.0 - No support for alpha layer.

I think just about everyone can see it with IE and NS then.

This should have a transparent background without any yellow showing:
