By 2300, Google will index all of the world's information available to search freely.

According to Eric Shcmidt, Google will have indexed all of the worlds information by 2300.

"2300: Google's plan to index all the world's information and make it searchable could by achieved, according to Eric E. Schmidt."

By 2300 , Google will say that , it will take 900 more years to index the amount of information gathered within those 300 years

    or

50 years to index only CF.com database

How amazing it would be for the users in 2300 , finding our current posts

Firstly this is the second time i have tried to reply to this thread, CF crashes more times than a volvo test center.

    Here we go again......

I doubt very much that the internet will be the same as it is now in the year 2300. If you think how much computers and the Internet has progressed since the 1960s when CERN were first taking there baby steps through the "internet" and look how the net has evolved. That is less than 50 years we are talking. What another 290+ years of evolution holds for us, its quite scary actually.

google will probably be making toasters and washing machines and a new company Foogle will be beating the pants of microsft in the Search engine stakes.

A bit off topic BUT......where does anyone see the net in the year 2300?

I think the internet will be super fast and every home in the world will have this fast internet access. and know what you want to search for without typing anything in.

Edit: You can already do that here, silly me.

    Messed up.

There are already people who can take the whole net down in less than an hour. Luckily they are researches.

It might just be me being pessimistic, but in 2300 it will be messed up. And none of you will be there to prove me wrong. Hopefully.

I believe, internet will become something like petrol. Majority of people will be consumers and a small segment of developers. Hope they won't make it illegal for ordinary people to develop application, like they've a ban on digging petrol

Coding forums has never crashed for me. In 2300 I think there will definitely have been a major war in between now and then. Most likely one surpreme power ruling the world by then. Thats my 2 cents.

I didn't realize it will take so long. Think I'll start downloading the internet to my new flash drive.

I am surprized that they think it will take that long. As hungry as Google is, I bet they get there by 2299 or sooner :-).

I don't think we could ever answer that now with any kind of certainty, we could create ideas of what could possible be, but nothing more...

As technology progresses it gets better and more often than not more complex, but computers has we know them now will not exist (museums maybe).

check out for a few ideas BBC News Story
