    Creative Suite 3Ö?

Why didnít anybody tell me that Dreamweaver and Fireworks 9 (a.k.a. CS3) have been out for a while already?
Just discovered it today (Iíve heard of Photoshop CS3 but didnít expect the ex-Macromedia products to be updated as well) and Iím really impressed of their speed since they are universal binary now and donít need Rosetta anymore.

Too bad they are too expensive for meÖ

I just realized about a week ago. I purchased them a few days later. DW CS3 has a lot of improvements. The thing I'm impressed with the most is its create new document feature. Rather than just create a blank document, it can create advanced CSS layouts that are valid! It also has the spry framework worked into the controls. Look it up. It makes things a lot easier like drop down menus, accordion style content. Layout is pretty much the same though. Before in DW8 you could only format the code. Now you can format CSS! When I say format I mean automatic tabs and what not. I'll post a screenshot. Flash CS3 Pro has a better layout now. It now supports actionscript 3.0. Photoshop CS3 didn't seem to change much except for the layout. Though from the previous versions they all seem to start up much faster.

They also have a developers kit for DW CS3. I think I might try it out to see what its all about.

For a 21/22 year old, you seem have a lot of money to spend... most people I know around your age would have had to save for months, none could just go out and buy it on a whim!

I've had CS3 through it's beta phases, and have a licenced version of the Master Edition. It's a dream. Everything makes sense, and it works well and it's oh so clutter free... dribble. It takes up a huge amount of system resources at times and took the best part of 2 hours to install (my fault, you need to run the installation without any other applications open, so I had to install it three times - it fails to tell you till the very very end that it's not installed the components).

Obviously I use it for design/artwork/print purposes and focus my use on InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. They've combined the UI throughout all the products, and you can even drag/copy/cut and paste straight into what were macromedia products.

I love it! I love it! I love it!

After a few years of saving from freelance web design, I managed to fork out the dough.

Yeah, tell meÖ Youíll have to save for a few years to get that money together - or you charge damn high prices.
I just downloaded the 30 day trial for now untilÖ well, until I get a full license.

Itís amazing! Donít know if it did before but I canít remember: It even tells you CSS quirks when you check your document for browser support.

And accessibility check is also integrated. Very nice. And itís so DAMN fast!

Strange, I thought the Master edition is not available until summer?

I installed the Web Premium package last night. I was surprised that it took just under half an hour! Surprised and pleased, that is. I was slightly nervous because I had read about others having trouble installing the packages, but I had no problems at all.

The applications are nice though! They start quickly, and feel responsive. I look forward to taking advantage of the increased interoperability between them.

Imagine the confusion 'newbies' the world around are going to experience when the same users* who snap at them for using Dreamweaver suddenly turn around and yell at them for not using it

*(I'm not saying anyone in this thread is one of these)

PHP Tip: If you want to use short tags (<? or <?=$var) then make sure short_open_tag is set to "1". It really helps.

    Lol
Dreamweaver is a great tool to use, cuts your time by at least half.
The problem with it is, it doesn't really support understanding of code. This is a problem when trying to explain to someone why something doesn't work correctly or why something should be changed.
So baseline is, make sure you know how to code html first, then look at using the coding software
    PHP Code:
    header('HTTP/1.1 420 Enhance Your Calm');
Been gone for a few months, and haven't programmed in that long of a time. Meh, I'll wing it ;)

Depends what kind of customer you are, it's not available for retail sale, no. The company I work need it well beforehand to make sure our software is compliant, and our existing data files can cope with the upgrade with minimal disruption. We have well over 800 licences at any given time throughout our sites worldwide, and Adobe are aware that change control must be implemented as it's demanded by GMP.

As I said, we were playing with beta releases almost 6 months ago.

In regards to dreamweaver, I still prefer TopStyle Pro by www.bradsoft.com.
