Can we drop the tradepub spam emails please?

I'm not far from blocking codeforums in my inbox. I've been here several years and now I'm being hit at least twice a week with commercial emails from this site which is then attempting to harvest a second email address from me. Look at this:

Note that I've deleted others between those days.

So in you go and take a look and get something like this:

First of all I did not subscribe to this. These emails are completely new and unwarranted. Secondly the unsubscribe link in the emails points to priorityoneemail.com - completely different from the tradepub.com links to the advertised products in the email. I think it's quite clear that priorityoneemail.com is simply going to update a database to confirm my email address is real and active.

Finally when you click the link in the email it becomes blatently obvious that this is an email harvesting excercise:

Look at the url - it's confirming my email address. Then there is the box that wants another (work) email address - presumably to hit that just as relentlessly as my personal inbox. Then apparently I'll be agreeing to tradepub.coms terms if I submit the form - yet apparently tradepub.com don't give a damn about my privacy anyway as they've already confirmed my personal email address in the url. I live in the UK so the Data Protection Act applies and MAS MEDIA have breached this and not by accident.

To put it bluntly MAS MEDIA, this is a bad tactic. You've given us no warning of these new emails, given us no option to opt out (or at least if you have you haven't made it clear) and apparently you think more of spamming us than building a community Congratulations, you're using every trick in the book to kill the site!
I can't really think of anything to write here now...

This makes me angry, even though I haven't received any yet. Is the Ad revenue not enough? Must you invade upon our privacy in order to squeeze out your nickels? Despicable, selling our emails.

maybe an unsubscribe more a better way than block it, because you know, yahoo maybe block all email from codingforums if many people block it.

I never click unsubscribe links for the very reason that they're normally used to confirm an email address is live and then spammed to death. Perhaps if you bothered to read my comment about the unsubscribe link pointing to priorityoneemail.com then you would have realised this instead of suggesting I click it. This thread is aimed at MAS media or those who can contact them such as Oracleguy (who I'd like to thank for his suggestion).

This is annoying, but I solved the problem by using a filter to match all the spam emails and direct those to a specific folder where they remain unread. Only emails about thread replies and private messages show up in my inbox.

I use a unique email address for every site so that I can see where spam originates from; this appears to be the only spam related to this forum, making it relatively easy to clean up with a filter.

I just block all email from codingforums. If there's ever anything important enough for me to read I would hope and presume it is posted here.

Yeah, that's one way to do it; just use the What's New? tab. I like instant feedback even when I'm not actively using the site though.
