    General chat, any chance of moving to xenForo

    Is there a general chat forum for non-technical stuff? Generally those help foster forum happiness and bliss and other things.

    Also any chance of a move to xenForo software, I know this probably wont happen but just asking. For those wondering cenforo is by Kier and Mike, apparently former vB dudes (I'm actually used to IPB software but what the heck, too much information).

    Oh could we have a lot more smilies as well, anything under a 100 is now really trying on the emoticon front

    Um, please no more emoticons... I think 12 is enough to adequately express yourself.

    And please no "upgrades" to sparkly/animated emoticons either. I hate that teeny bopper stuff!

    Anyway, welcome to the forum! In addition to the active members lounge, which will eventually unlock itself for you, there is a "geek news and humor" section that might hold you over until you're unlocked for the members lounge. In the meantime, enjoy the forum.

    It's usually a good idea to start out with this at the VERY TOP of your CSS: * {border:0;margin:0;padding:0;}

    Ah okay no problems. So when I visit Europe can I stay in your spare room?

    Sure, no big deal – if you’re cool with a walk-through room?

    Good to see you again Jethro - it's been awhile.

    I doubt there's any serious forums, (exempting the Xenforo zealots), who would move to that software until the following things happen:

    1) It's still around in a year or two.

    2) It's slightly more professional and polished than it is.

    Unless they've made vast leaps in advancing it over the last couple of months, it's still a highly overrated piece of Beta software, IMHO.

    There's always the chance that we'll either kill George by piling on more work or that Spooks will launch his coup d'état during the transition.

    Hey John, things going okay except for these pesky web projects that seem to be growing in complexity just recently

    DF is rocking along, she's doing some xenForo work but is looking at training into Audo-something or other, basically being a hearing specialist.

    Matt it's into final/public/gold release 1.0.2, and while I would like some improvements (setting up Admins, smilie definition, etc) it has definitely added some new juice to forums already. Just setting up a Pararomantic Site for a group of ladies and they are raving about it after trying IPB and finding that product too confusing.

    Still needs a few modules, but is looking very solid in a sort of jquery platform way. Definitely a heck of a lot better than the last vBulletin beta that got pulled after a couple of hours on the net to the general merriment of all and sundry, excepting vB site owners of course
