    Lightbulb Mobile development forum

Looking around at how the web and the online world is evolving - static sites, dynamic sites, web 2.0, and possibly now "world 2.0" - the mobile web... I'd really love to see Coding Forums cater to Mobile development too, with a new forum dedicated to just that. It's already pretty much the rage these days, and if not at the moment, pretty soon everyone's going to moving their apps to cater to devices, and developers will be learning/developing for that. (Getting interested in it meself these days).

PS. I joined like 6 years ago, had a huge break from spending time here during university... but heck I love this place The most decent helpful people around.

    Edit:
Since I am in the mood, may I add:
If I have a web-related career at the moment, I owe it in VERY LARGE PART to you guys! How a little help can go a loooong way

How many people on CF develop for and actually know much about mobile development though? If there are enough people on both sides, then I'm certainly open to adding such a forum.

Thought being: Even if there aren't many people knowledged in that area, having such a place might lead to more people learning it. If you get a couple of people who know where to look together to create a tutorial thread on it (links and such), maybe it'll pick up?

If you were meaning mobile web-development, then devices are moving more and more towards as-full-featured browsers as we have on the desktop, with net-connections to match - so how much mobile-specific development will there be, other than tweaked layouts? A specialisation in the mobile web has no future.

Mobile application development will be massively dependent on the technology being used, and the overlap there is next to zero - it's all about the Cocoa or Android or Symbian or X APIs that the platform in question provides and, as good as some people here might be at one or more of those, I can't see this forum attracting more expertise (or people looking for answers...) than the Apple/Google/Symbian developer-groups.
