    Flash - Play external .swf inside current .swf

    Is it possible to have an external Flash movie play inside another?

    I have a movie with a nav bar & dynamic text boxes etc linking from outside sources. I'd like another movie I've made to be inside this movie (where it currently reads 'Additional Content'), so that it loads AFTER my main movie has loaded etc.

    Main Movie

    Additional Content

    Note: Both movies are currently in development so only a few links etc work.

    With just a bit of actionscript.

    Code:
    onFrame(1) {
    	loadMovie("profilelinks.swf",_root.dropZone);
    }
    Replace _root.dropZone with the sprite that you want the content to be loaded into. This target sprite should be positioned where you want the new movie to appear.

    I'm sorry. I have no idea how to implement that.

    I assume the actionscript goes into the main movie. But other than than I'm stumped.

    Target sprite (sprite also returned no results in help)

    no brochis ... betta use the loadMovieNum function .. dats betta for loading swfs

    syntax:

    Code:
    loadMovieNum("url","level");
    url refers to the url of the movie ... n level is similar to .... say ... layer !

    I really don't know what I'm supposed to do with that. I've tried putting it in the movie and having a layer that it links to, but that didn't do any good.

    Sorry, "sprite" is lingo from using SwishMax...can't remember the right term for Flash, but it's the same concept.

    Yeah, you could do loadMovieNum, but I like my method more because I understand better how it's positioned. Either should work for swfs.

    Unhappy

    Ok... I don't think you guys are quite understanding quite how little I understand about how to do this.

    I... have... no... idea. lol The stuff on that *teevo movie, and the stuff that's here, is pretty much the extent of my Flash ability (which isn't that bad considering I've only been using it 2 weeks, if I do say so myself).

    So if someone could point me in the direction of maybe a rough guide to implementing this stuff rather than just random bits of information, that'd be great.

    Hey, I need help with a similar problem.
    I am also new at this and I'm using actionscript 2.0

    I'm trying to make a game for kids, age 2-6 as a school assignment and I need to be able to load another swf file into the "main" game.
    Is it possible to make a script that behaves the same as:
    gotoAndPlay("Scene", frame);
    but it refers to another swf movie instead of just another scene/frame inside the original movie?
