    Can my logo be flashed?

I would like my logo to have some animated features on it. I have absolutely no idea how to use flash. Not alot of time to learn it either.

If my logo can offer a better look to my site and add to the viewers experience it would be great.

Is there anyone out there that can animate my logo for me?
I have the logo attached. Please take a look and let me know.
The website is in my signature so that you can see the space provided.

    Look forward to any replies.

I question why you think it'd "improve the user experience" if your logo were animated. Animation on a web page is usually a distraction, not an improvement. Mind you, there are exceptions to any rule but you really need to be sure that animation will be a true improvement and not just another whiz-bang feature that doesn't provide anything in the way of actual content.

Likewise, unless you're displaying your logo full sized as the major content on a page, Flash is the wrong technology. A simpler animated GIF file would be a better choice.

    Cheers Roy.

I agree with you - I just wanted to open the door for more options but I think you have answered all I needed to know.

    Please close this thread.

    here's a quickie Flash animation:

    blue ice logo

Graphic needs cleanup, but output is 1k less than original gif.
Came back and added sound which jumps it up to 23k, which
can be trimmed down with sound editing.

I must admit I would really love some flash but I just dont have the time to learn it. I want a few elements on my website to be animated especially on the homepage.

Does it take long to learn flash?

i'm just getting into flash. but i see it becomes more and more complicated. if you want something quick, then just add a some javascript or a java applet.

I understand what you are saying but isnt a flash element much smaller in size? This is why flash has been so popular.

I think I'll have to learn or find someone who can do it for me.

    javascript vs. flash

negative ! actually flash takes more time to load. unlike javascript (which most of the times is just pure coding) the only advantage you have with flash is that flash is supported by netscape browser. a lot of javascripts are not supported by netscape browser. so, what may look beautiful on internet explorer won't look like anything at all on netscape browser. what browser would you testing your site with ?

    internet explorer ?
    netscape navigator ?
    opera ?

    flash

I highly recommend you test on both browsers.
Here is a perfect example. On my web site, the following page displays fireworks animation (by javascript) on ie but it does not display any fireworks animation on netscape. check it out

I also have animated features on my site www.blue-ice.co.uk - I still think flash is much cleaner and professional looking.

This is the URL to my companies direct oponents. http://www.peapodconsulting.com/security-consulting.htm

Take a look at the flash on this page - It looks flashtastic!

I want something that can compete with this site visually compared to my virtually boring blue ice image.

    Hence the flash

Looks ok - I'll have a play around and it should inspire me to learn flash.
