Please help - problem opening a file.

    Hi

I am using MacroMedia Flash MX version 6.0

I have tried to open a couple of files downloaded from web and both times I get the "Unexpected file format" error.

Looking in the properties of the file it says that it opens with "Flash 6.0 r25".
Isn't that the same version that I have ?

Is my version too old to open these files ?

Is there any way ( like using some kind of converter) that I can open and modify the files ?

    Thanks

Yes its likely your version is too old. Most .fla files on the web are Flash MX 7, Flash 8, or Flash CS3 (flash 9) so you can't open new files. Your flash player seems out of date as well. No there is no converter because some things just won't transfer over. Only thing to do now is upgrade to a newer version of flash.
