    File not getting downloaded in FireFox 3.6.24

    Hi All,

    I am trying to debug a piece of code (written in JPS and lots of JavaScript) that lists number of log files (if you move your mouse over them you will see the path on status bar; like: https:....../...../..../..../..../log1.txt). User then can click on any and LoginPage and then Save Page is suppose to show up.

    It works fine in IE and FireFox except the 3.6.24 version of FF. Using 3.6.24 it asks for UserId/Password and then a blank page pops up (new Tab) and nothing else.

    I really have to fix this issue. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    this works for FireFox 4.0 and later sorry buddy.

    try using a browser sniffer to identify archaic browsers then redirect visitors to a page telling them to upgrade

    download:
    http://bookofjavascript.com/Chapter03/brwsniff.js

    and use it like in this example: (instead of printing info, use if-then on the variables)
    if-thens
    Code:
    if((browser_info[0].indexOf('FireFox')) || (browser_info[2].indexOf('FireFox'))
    {
        if (parseInt(browser_info[1]) < 4)
        {
             ///redirect
        }
    }
    browser sniffer example from bookofjavascript.com(relies on brwsniff.js)
    Code:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>I know which browser you're using!</title>
    <script type = "text/javaScript" src = "brwsniff.js"></script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <script type = "text/javaScript">
    <!--
    var browser_info = getBrowser();
    var browser_name = browser_info[0];
    var browser_version = browser_info[1];
    window.document.write("Your using " + browser_name + " version " + browser_version + "\r");
    var browser_name = browser_info[2];
    var browser_version = browser_info[3];
    window.document.write("With " + browser_name + " version " + browser_version);
    // -->
    </script>
    </body>
    </html>
