Guidance for a school assignment (Visual Basic)

    Hi,

I have the following assignment I need to do for school:

Problem: Avoca Beach Theatre requires a program that will ensure that it doesn’t oversell a movie by selling more tickets than there are seats. Design and code a program that acts as a booking program for the theatre for movies that it shows. Extensions to this code could be in the form of extension that allows people’s names to be reserved against a seat number, and a further extension allows for reservation for several sessions in a day. You could use arrays (simple through to multi dimensional) as a way to go about solving this problem.

I plan on using Visual Basic for this assignment.

Could you please point me in the direction of any tutorials which a relevant which will help me create this with Visual Basic? (Any tutorials which play a part in the creation of the project).

    Thanks in advance,

Are you allowed to use a database? I would probably start by creating a person class- it would have things in the constructor like name address etc... then have maybe an array (or better- a collection) of some sort for the seats/sessions... you can then have methods to add/remove/replace them (like collections have .Add() but you would probably want to make a method that would check against already booked seats and what-not before doing the .Add() and then reporting back if it is already taken or what-not... The easiest way to do this though is going to be using a database. You can get SQL express free.

    I code C hash-tag .Net
    Reference: W3C W3CWiki .Net Lib
    Validate: html CSS
    Debug: Chrome FireFox IE

To complete this work you should have to keep condition in the decision making loop. May you can use while, do..while or for loop. There you want to set the number os seats in the thereat is as the condition. Try to implement in your program
