    Best language?

What is the best language to use if attempting to build a site like hulu or netflix?

Whichever language your extensive team of developers choose.

Those sites are made up of various components that comprise several languages, including Perl, PHP, C++, javascript, and more.

You can get a website like that done with PHP and MySQL but that doesn't really mean you have to use it if you would rather use another language you already know.

You've lot of options if you go for languages. If you're looking most secure site, you can go for .NET otherwise choose any open source language like PHP.

As always, a website of this caliber will be made with a cocktail of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a serverside language and database. I'm fairly sure there's about a thousand threads just like this one across the forum.

i think it up to you but my choices to develop website is PHP. PHP can collect user information - By this I mean, you can let your user directly interact with the script. This can be something really simple, like collecting the temperature from the user that they want to convert from degrees to another format, or it can be more extensive information, like adding their information to an address book, or letting them post on a forum.

There're many languages used to build a site but you probably go for php based web development technology.

I would build it with PHP and MySQL due to its open-source status.
