Storing and accessing a version number in memory
I am working on a microcomputer project. The software resides on a microcomputer with on board Flash and RAM. There is a boot loader program and an application program. Each requires a version number. I need to store each version number in a fixed location so that the boot loader can report the application's version number and the application can report the boot loader's version number via a messaging protocol. How do I designate these two fixed locations so that they can be accessed by either program?
