    Running .jar files on Debian

    Anyone know what I need to run .jar files on debian?

    Just a JRE (Java Runtime Environment). Install the JRE from Sun http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp Click on he JRE download button and select the Linux install file.

    If you also want to do java development then instead install the JDK (Java Development Kit).
