    Motherboard, Jumpers, and BIOS

I have an Asus M7V400-MX with an AMD Athlon XP 2700+. The AMD is 333mhz 2.16ghz. Proper settings are supposed to be to set the jumpers to 166mhz.(let me work up to that) When jumpers are set to 100mhz... everything works fine and the processor is read as an Athlon XP 1500+ at 1300mhz (thats correct... this processor has a multiplier of 13) When I set the jumpers to 133mhz, it will not post. When I set the jumpers to the proper setting of 166mhz, everything works fine, except that it is being read as an Athlon XP 1500+ at 1300mhz. (just like the 100mhz setting) My guess is bad board, but how do I know? Does anyone have any possibilities or suggestions I can try? Thanks.

Unplug it and remove the battery. While it's unplugged set the board to use jumperless settings. Also use cable select on your drives. Once that's done put the battery back in and plug it in again. Reboot.

If that doesn't work I would give ASUS support a try
