    Webserver linux/windows server 2003

Which would be best to use as a webserver but also for personal web browsing?

also which would be best to let people download from the webserver? I want to use bit torrent but i think it only works on windows is there something along the same lines for Linux so my bandwidth is low on the webserver the user would be downloading big files 10 - 40MB files?

is cpanel free? Also whats the best free Linux O/S to use as a webserver/personal browsing?

    Thanks for your help

Redhat is widely used as a webserver OS, however I heard Mandrake is good

And I *think* cPanel is released under GNU free licence, but I'm not sure :|

I use Redhat Fedora at home for personal use and I know my hosting company uses Redhat for their webserver.

Windows Server 2003 would work with any bit torrent client, however show we be discussing that here?

As for Linux, I don't know about file sharing....

I think linux leads the way for file-sharing (p2p or otherwise) , here are many bittorrent clients for linux, google is your friend.
Cpanel is not free , webmin is though it requires more general linux knowledge.

Fedora is probably the best all-rounder & I use Redhat Enterprise for hosting , for home I am currently having a mad passionate fling with Xandros it's more a (windows)desktop replacement than a server system (but debian based so you can do most anything on it [cept compile php-gtk2 but thats another story])

Almost all linux distros come with mozilla or another browser , Fedora, Xandros,Ubuntu are my favourite flavours.
    resistance is...

MVC is the current buzz in web application architectures. It comes from event-driven desktop application design and doesn't fit into web application design very well. But luckily nobody really knows what MVC means, so we can call our presentation layer separation mechanism MVC and move on. (Rasmus Lerdorf)
