Question how can i find info, mother board

    Hi all,
I was given a laptop and the modem doesnt work. I've already replaced the hard drive and added a wireless card. So the moneys getting tight and I was told if I could find out what brand of motherboard it is I could just download the driver for the modem, the comp isnt reconising the internal modem. How do I do that?

    thanks all,
    Rhonda

It would probably say on the actual motherboard, but I believe some system diagonostics programs tell you the make/model of the motherboard.

If it is a laptop, all you need to know is who made it and the model number since laptop motherboard are for better or worse specific to the model they are put it.
