methinks it outputs only MS-formats, though it "intakes" others...

I have a kinda-similar situation. I have three .wav files which I want to convert into one .mp3 file - like number 1 playing and then 2, then 3 etc..is there any way I can do this.

Also, there is a way through windows media player to convert a .wma file to a .mp3 - play the track in question and then go to file > save media as. This will save the currently playing .wma as a .mp3 - works for me.

Good for you, there, Mr. tongue... (according to the batch section of the SDK it doesn't, but i digress)... yeah, audacity can fuse wavs & spit out one mp3, among other things; I like it.
