FTP not working with windows explorer (XP-SP2)

Does anyone have an idea why I wouldn't be able to FTP through Window Explorer (XP-SP2)? When I type an FTP address into the address bar, it just opens millions of new windows and freezes. I hope I gave enough info. If not, just ask for whtever you need to know.

    Thanx, Dan

possibly your ftp doesn't allow direct linking? i'm assuming you have tried ftp://yourftphost/ already, but the fact that its opening up millions of new windows is a bit strange, can u give us a screen shot or something that we can see what is happening? i've known spyware and such to mess with sites, which this could be the case if u have that "many" windows opening up

I think that problem is caused by Service Pack 2's firewall. On the security front, I think it disallows that...I think you need a GUI FTP client like WS_FTP or Filezilla

ok, thanx. I have smartFTP, i just think its handier to FTP through win explorer, because you can jst copy a file right from your desktop to your server. I guess I'll just deal with SmartFTP
