Next version of Microsoft’s OS: Windows 9 to be called Windows 10

As part of a conference where the media were invited, Microsoft has finally officially unveiled today its new operating system. With the mixed reception to Windows 8, there is a safe bet that Microsoft wants to win back the heart of its users with the upgrade of its OS. To do this, put the giant on simplicity software.

This new Windows offers a single online store to make the purchase of an application that will be deployed on all devices powered by Windows.

Go open source all the way! Why pay through the nose for every application? Why not be able to actually own your own operating system? Why not be able to write your own scripts and applications? People are free to just sit down at their computers and write code and share it. Why be hobbled by giant corporations that are only interested in the bottom line? That's so yesterday! Free the i386!

The hard fact is that only hardened geeks use Linux for desktop computing. Which normal person "sits down at their computer and writes and shares code, let alone "their own operating system"? The only case where open source has gained a significant foothold is Android mobiles.

Experience on this forum makes me confident that nothing is better than software written by DrDOS.

"Giant corporations only interested in the bottom line" can only achieve that by meeting their customers' needs. Speaking purely personally, Microsoft products made me rich in the 1970s and 1980s and I don't plan to repay that with disloyalty. Same reason I always use only Shell petrol and drink only Heineken beer.

    Funny images.

All the code given in this post has been tested and is intended to address the question asked.
Unless stated otherwise it is not just a demonstration.

good job cos you certainly wont make much money on Windows 8/8.1 apps

methinks google probably did quite well using open-source software (and in fact then released thier own fork as mentioned) , and yahoo and facebook, and ...
Shell is fine, Heineken does not work in my car, malt your own open-source ethanol dude, you can drink it AND fuel your car~
    resistance is...

MVC is the current buzz in web application architectures. It comes from event-driven desktop application design and doesn't fit into web application design very well. But luckily nobody really knows what MVC means, so we can call our presentation layer separation mechanism MVC and move on. (Rasmus Lerdorf)

Well if the pattern of previous Microsoft OS releases is anything to go by this one should hopefully be good. I still can't believe what a mess they made of 8.
