I've been using AVG free version for several years now. Can't beat the price and it doesn't bog down the system like Norton or McAfee.

There are numerous antivirus available on internet free of cost. I would advise you to install Kaspersky on your PC because it is easy to use and do not have any adverse effect on speed of computer.

I always use Avast myself, used AVG years ago but the GUI wasn't good and it missed a few things. I only thought I had a problem because random things were happening. Switched to Avast and found all sorts of lovely little nasties spread across my system that Avast took care of.

I've got Avast on my netbook and it works quite happily with it.

Microsoft Security essentials is a personal faveroute,

Although ive just started to test Avast, not %100 sure about it.

    MSE - Definatly Recommended,

But you need more protect than just AV, I would install Anti Malware Bytes to.

I use Avast in combination with Online Armour (firewall), have for at least a year or two now, knock on wood there's no probs! They're annoyingly good.

For me I use Verizon McAfee Suite. It does cost, but it is very reliable; it comes with a Familty Protection service to block sites and a site scanner that warns you of a site full of viruses.

Avast Free or Malwarebytes, they don't bog down your system and still provide premium coverage

    I agree with this.

I have been a faithful AVG user for several years now, and I haven't had any issues. In my opinion, it's the best out there. I use to use Norton, It made me lag really bad and wasn't that good. That's when I made the change to AVG and never looked back. :P
