    Sticky Notes software

Anyone know if the free Sticky Notes software can be used to create notes in folders or can it only be used for the desktop?
I ask this before I download to remind me about somthing in a folder instead of creating Read Me txt files.

If it can only be used on desktops does anyone know of any other similar free software that will do this job?

    All help much appreciated

Have you checked the options? There's a transfer option and lots of tabs. Even for setting up networking, etc.. Maybe something will work for you. Firefox has some sticky add-ons for note taking, but not sure if you can save notes to a folder. Maybe just set a Desktop link to NotePad and save .txt file to folder(s)???

Like having post it notes on your desktop. I wish to have the same thing in folders to use as reminders of something important within the folder without having to keep opening Read Me txt files all the time which are easy to forget.

    Maybe:

    Create Your Own Stickies

Haven't tried this and don't know if available for you, but you might be able to do this with Folder Actions: right click the folder and then "Set up Folder Actions".

Not sure if NoteZilla would work the way you want. These look interesting:

Notezilla does what I want but there is so much Freeware out there that I am really looking for that as Notezilla is expensive just for occasional use and not using all its functions

If you have Microsoft Office and it came with OneNote, that is actually a pretty decent note taking software. It supports synchronization between multiple computers and I think supports web access.

    I'd recomend Tomboy: http://projects.gnome.org/tomboy/?pagewanted=all

I have it installed on Windows as well as Linux machines..... The one good thing about Tomboy is that it has Cloud Syncronization services built in, So you can sync your notes between computers... oh and it's also Open Source!
