    Graphic Artist question

So in Spring I am going to be hiring a graphic artist for my business, (not online, they would actually work at my office).

I'd be seeking someone who is great at either Photoshop or Illustrator.
While it'd be part time to start out (about 90 days before full time).
Not a master guru, but someone who knows it pretty well.

Does anyone know the average a graphic artist is paid when hired to work in a business? I was thinking $9.00 an hour part time, and $10.00 an hour when full time.

Would this be fair? It's all I'd be able to do. I believe anything under $9.00 would be too cheap. It's in Virginia USA, not a high money making state.

Any help would be great. Thanks

Professional graphic artists in my office used to make $45,000/year i.e. approx $20-22/hour - full time job

Hmm sounds like I need to hire a student or something. I'd be bankrupt quickly at that price. I know they deserve it, and it's worth it, but I am much too small of a business right now for that.

So I am guessing part time would be around $15/hour?

    Thanks for the information.
