    career change

im a mechanical design engineer... but i have a huge interest in making web pages... i have no portfolio... but if i was given a task i know i can do it, as long as there is no tight deadline... i have been recently indulging in vb and excel and i when i worked it out it'll be awesome... but i wanna get a job... but the thing is how much do you guys get paid... i dont want make a loss... im pretty much in touch with customers on a daily basis... i have no idea what it would be like in a programming envidroment... i;m an 3d modelling expert and work for a blue chip company... what is your advice... should i stick to what im doing... should i continue to purse this as a junior or something? im a uk buddy but the way lol... i bet most of you are american...

I will move this thread over the career advice forum.

As for our members, we have a pretty global community here.
