    Password-protected Access database

I'm trying to use a password-protected Access db on my web server for the first time. To date I've only used the Provider and Data Source parts of the connection string, which has worked well. The information in this db is sensitive so I'd like to add another layer of security (btw the file is stored outside the root directory).

When I include the User ID=Admin;Password=mypwd; components of the protected db I receive the error message: "Cannot start your application. Workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by aother user."

    1. Does anyone have any tips on setting up this file on the web server?
    2. Will I need my hosting company to do anything to make this run?
    3. Is this overkill since I have the db file outside the root?

    Many thanks,
    pt

Well this is cause you created your database password wrong, you will need to recreate your database password, or find the Workgroup file and upload it to your space.
