Copy file from one server to another

Is it possible to use the file system object to copy a file or folder from one server to another? They are both part of the same network.

I've tried to access files on another server, and get the error "path not found" or "file cannot be opened". When I print out the path used and paste it to windows explorer, I know the path is fine.

I can use the same code to access files on the web server, but I'm not able to access files on another server on the same network, using a path that I know is correct. Any ideas?

permissions maybe? I cant remember but you may need to give IUserMachine(?) permission or do some impersonation with a user that has rights (folder not civil ).

That was my thought, but we granted the same permissions in windows explorer on the folder that we did to the folder on the web server.

After looking at some old code you do need to Impersonate. We save all files to a different server and have a Impersonator object that we initiate before creating (or moving the file). I am not sure where the code for that object is but I will post it when I can if you have not found a solution.

Update: tried copying a file from another server to the web server, and it worked. Apparently, for some reason we just can't copy a file from the file server to our web server.

Ok...we think the problem lies in the fact that the server that I'm not able to copy off of doesn't have the same password synced as the other 2 servers do.

Anyone know if that sounds reasonable? Is there a way to supply the username/password when I attempt to copy from the server?

If you can do it via http and your server supports php it might be worth trying the Rapid Transfer Script (www.rapidtransferscript.com). Upload the script to the directory you want to copy the files to and open it in the browser, enter the url of the file(s) to copy and hit transfer. Copies 1GB files in under 90 seconds.
