Moderators - I need an ASP expert.

    Hi Moderators,

This is definately off topic but I need your help quite urgently.

I have some asp development issues that are definately beyond my capabilities and will take some time, much more than I can ethically ask for as free support such from CodingForum members.

I know this is not job finding or seeking site so do you know of any respected (in the asp community) message boards where I can advertise for this support?

Don't ban me from coding forums, I need it.

    Regards

    Gary

This isn't exactly something we'd ban you for.

You might be able to find a capable programmer right here if you posted some more specific details.

I'd definitely post more details; someone here may very well be able to help.

I doubt I can since I am pretty swamped with work right now (building a subscription website and a report for another client, in addition to some other stuff!).

Yeah I couldn't do it for ya either, I'm swamped at work. Our software product is behind schedule. (Big suprise) We got 7 databases, 4 programming languages (ASP, ASP.net, ColdConFusion, C++), 3 web servers, and 340,000 lines of code. They even stopped asking us if we could work on Saturdays, they just started asking who couldn't, lol...

P.S. You might also try experts-exchange.com - although some of the replies you get there may be substandard compared to here (this is still and probably always will be the absolute best forum for web development, IMHO).

    I can make some time.

Post some more details or mail them to me and we'll see if we can work something out.

Perhaps you already have enough offers of help. If not, then you should find someone at the SitePointForums Trading Post.

    Somewhat Overwhelmed by your support!

    Guys,

I really did not expect such a level of positive support. I feared that I would be told where to shove such crass commercialism.

I'll draw up a decent specification for the project as it now stands and where it needs to go, set a copy of the project running on another server and post the URL to the login page for everyone to try it out.

Once again, many thanks for your support.

    Regards

    Gary

Hmm, I'm already done with one of these projects, and within hours of completing the other.

You might as well post your specifications here, I might be able to help after all, and if not I could probably suggest some things.

I've definitely been useful in that regard lately, if not on this forum, in general.

The forum rules aren't absolutely clear on this matter, as far as I can decipher... as long as you aren't blatantly advertising services, etc. you should be ok. After all, you're asking for help. This is a help forum.

If it comes down to paying someone for work accomplished, etc. I'm pretty sure that the forum is not responsible in any way and has NO legal responsibilities, and that it would end up in a contract between the the parties involved, if you enlisted someone's help for pay.

Anyway, I think it's safe to go ahead and post your specs, and see if someone can help you out... I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. We'll be glad to help you out here, any additional help for pay would be between the involved parties, and http://codingforums.com should not and probably will not claim involvement or responsibility for said solutions, good or bad.

I think that's legalese enough that George would agree with me.
