    What does CInt() Mean

    As above what does this CInt() mean in a asp script and why am i not able to have a blank database field when useing that it seams that by useing that i can have different types of fields in my database and it doesnt care when viewing when I dont use it then it doesnt view the info properly! I hope this makes sense

    P.s. The variables that are stickys maybe if we could add definitions to them as some are self explanitory and others are not, and if we could also add all little variables like CInt() and all the things above the letters IE &%^*$()$#@!<>,. and what they do and mean for example < is Less then I know that newbies would find this to be a very usefull resource

    Sorry to be so windy

    Adam

    Thanks In Advance

    CInt() = convert to Integer, for a list of those functions, see www.devguru.com or any other vbscript resource

    I will admit DevGuru is great and gives full definitions for all the little things that have to do with javascript but when I click to check stuff on asp and try to find out say what <> stands for which is not equals. I just realized that asp is part of vbscripting and that all the stuff I have been trying to find I should have clicked on vbscript not asp doh silly me but maybe he should add something to indicate that

    choice

    and for vb net

    you have

    convert.toInteger(var)

    cInt(var)

    cType(var, Integer)

    or

    myInt = Integer.Parse(myString)
