    Need help: lblDescription.Text.Length > 0

    Hi - our website needs to be able to show more text (copy) on our product pages. I can't seem to find where or why this is limited.
    I thought maybe this had something to do with it, but I tried editing it and it didn't seem to make a difference -

    Code:
    If lblDescription.Text.Length > 0 Then
    Dim m As New HtmlMetam.Name = "description"
    m.Content = lblDescription.Text.Substring(0, IIf(lblDescription.Text.Length < 200, lblDescription.Text.Length - 1, 199))h.Controls.Add(m)
    End If
    I don't really know much asp.net so I can't seem to locate the problem. here is an example of our product pg: http://beta.patternworks.com/productdetail/101575.htm

    down the bottom of the copy where it says "#6 straight and 40" circular" that is actually cut off, there is more copy but it doesn't show. Does anyone have any idea of what we can do to make that text copy block longer?
    Thanks!

    im just starting to learn about .net myself, but c# not vb.

    I thik you are barking up the wrong tree. if im reading that right, if the total text length is more than 200, it cuts it to 199, but the information on that page is more than 200 chracters its over 1000, so maybe your looking in the wrong spot in the code, or, your content is being hidden by css perhaps

    Yes, I think I stated that I tried changing that but it made no difference.

    Alykins: Basically, I need to be able to have more TEXT in the product copy.

    It cuts off at a certain point. In our product database, we can go on and on and on with copy, but when it posts on the web - it cuts off at a certain point. This should be something with the asp.net coding?

    I am not sure I can make it more simple than that -- appreciate anyone's help who has some clue as to give us the ability to have more text/copy in the product description.

    Is the lblDescription control a standard ASP.NET web control? If so, how is its Text property set? Is your copy stored in a SQL database? Maybe the table column is only defined as varchar(200).
