    Apache not running.

    ..
    I'm trying to run Apache from the xampp (v3.1.0.3.1.0) control panel and I'm getting the following error messages:-

    [Apache] Attempting to start Apache app...
    11:43:31 PM [Apache] Attempting to start Apache app...
    11:43:31 PM [Apache] Status change detected: running
    11:43:34 PM [Apache] Status change detected: stopped
    11:43:34 PM [Apache] Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
    11:43:34 PM [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
    11:43:34 PM [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
    11:43:34 PM [Apache] Check the "/xampp/apache/logs/error.log" file
    11:43:34 PM [Apache] and the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
    Please help.

    What does the error.log show as the cause?
    First place I'd check is to see if anything else is listening on port 80 (another webserver such as IIS or a different instance of apache; skype, etc). If there is, your options are either to map the apache to a different port than 80 (8088 is a common choice as its user available ports), and then either attach via 8088 or add 8088 to the services file for http traffic, or shut down the program using the port.
    The error log should tell you what the actual cause is.
    PHP Code:
    header('HTTP/1.1 420 Enhance Your Calm');
    Been gone for a few months, and haven't programmed in that long of a time. Meh, I'll wing it ;)
