    htaccess Rewrite Rule Issues

I'm having a bit of trouble with this one, if anyone could advise over what I am doing wrong that would be great

I am trying to redirect users going to:
    mysite.com/signup/Twitter/9/?code=examplecode...rhyt78..32h.ytdeDW9

    To: mysite.com/signup.php?register=1&c=$1&n=$2&code=$3

    I got this so far:
    RewriteRule ^signup/(.*)/(.*)/?code=(.*) http://mysite.com/signup.php?register=1&c=$1&n=$2&code=$3

But it doesn't seem to work. Without the rewrite on the essential code it is fine but it is as soon as I add in ?code=(.*) everything gets stuck, any ideas on this one?
